I was nervous about having my hair done by a new stylist after moving away from the stylist I have gone to for 18 years and dearly loved. Julie, however, eased my concerns and did a wonderful job matching my color and reproducing my hair style. I was very pleased and highly recommend her. The salon was lovely and everyone was very friendly and thoughtful - the staff demonstrate a genuine desire to make the customer's experience a good one.
Although the salon definitely provides an upscale and high quality experience, the prices are significantly higher that I am accustomed to paying in the Tidewater area for the same service. I paid $25 more (before tip) for a root retouch and hair cut/style than I am accustomed to paying. This would not be as significant if I did not like to get these services every 4 weeks. The price is the only negative.

Finally, a salon that understands my curly hair. I was fed up with having my curls layered elsewhere, looking like bozo and having too much hair cut at one time so my curls just sprung up way too short! With the Ouidad special cut at Face Value Salon I kept my length and had my hair layered in a special way that provided a cascade of curls! Yari, my stylist did a good job of educating me on how to use certain products for my hair type too. (Without any pressure to buy). I will only have my hair cut here now! Lorraie

Lucinda and her team did the hair and make-up for my daughter's wedding on location at The Boar's Head. They were all wonderful! Lucinda stayed to do touch-ups after our outdoor photos and did not not leave until everyone was completely satisfied. She really cared that we all felt great about how we looked. Highly recommend!!

Friendly, service oriented, professional staff - one and all. Loved my hair experience and Express Pedi was just as I had anticipated and very happy with it.
Online Booking Menu under Services and Salon Studio describes Express Mani to include a light hand massage, and mine did not. I had hoped, like in Express Pedi that the corresponding Aveda product would be used. It also lists it as being $20 and I was charged $25.
