This was the first time Brook was This was the first time Brook was my stylist. She did a partial hilite and cut. The color is great and the cut was just what I wanted. She really listened to what I envisioned, made me feel relaxed and gave a lot of time to my visit.

This was my second haircut at Face I felt the haircut was good overall except that both times the hairdresser cut it too short above my left ear in spite of a reminder that she had cut it shorter than the other side before. Her "remedy" was to offer to feather the too short side more, which would revel even more of the top half of my ear which I wanted hidden. Also, the nice semi-sophisticated angle by the ear that she gave me the first time was cut off square this time. I miss it. One can see down into my ear hole now and this will take some time to grow out and with the holidays coming I'm really disappointed. The price of $40 for this shampoo, cut, dry and style is too high for its value for a short hair style, especially when the cut consistently is uneven by my ears. I have natural wave, not curly hair, so it doesn't require much special attention. Also, within 2 hours my hair style had completely flattened; I assume from the weight of the hair spray used (even though I suggested she only spray it underneath to give it a little body/stiffening/lift, she also sprayed it on top which may have weighed it down). My hair has more lift after I sleep on it (which then stays all day). Upon leaving I asked what the price would be if I had only a hair cut next time and was told it would be $30. This seems to be very high for a basic 1/2 " cut on short hair. I might be willing to pay that occasionally if the cut was a new shaping/style and more sophisticated but not for a simple regular trim. My hairdresser was very nice with friendly conversation. The "wellness moment" off essential oil on the top of my hair may have benefited the hair dresser but not me as I couldn't smell it until she finally placed her finger under my nose for me to get a whiff of it. The head massage was nice but its relaxation effect quickly left when the cool water shampoo chilled me (unlike the nice warm water she used the first time I was there). Reflecting more on this and now getting the prices of other salons in the area, I may just cancel my next appointment. I appreciate the minor attempts at pampering but not for the results I received and for this extra cost. Every stylist that works at Face Every stylist that works at Face Value is knowledgable and talented, but apparently prices have gone up and probably out of my range.

Great 1st time experience I left my old salon because I did not enjoy hearing the staff bad mouthing other clients afte they left as if I couldn't hear them. Face Value was a WONDERFUL first time experience and I can't wait to go back. My visit started off with a warm welcome and an offer for a beverage while I waited. Then I was given a tour and felt right at home. Then the consultation came and I felt by the end of it, the stylist truly understood what I wanted as well as fully evaluated my hair type and damage. The wash, the cut, and styling was great and I have a tough hair type to style so that is saying something. My favorite part about the visit? I felt well educated after I left with so many tips and tricks that will work for my hair... not just product, but how to dry my bangs the right way, etc. I recommend this salon whole heartedly!
